Origins
Andrew Ward started shaping boards in 1997 at Elliott Heads as a keen surfer who had an interest in board design. Quickly learning the traditional hand-shaping skills as well as glassing, sanding, and finishing. He is now one of the newest breeds of Shapers that can do it all. Our boards have come a long way since those early days and have surfed and traveled to many places. We are proud to be a rider driven company, and provide expert honest advice. We pride ourselves on making excellent hi-performance boards to suit the individual Surfer.
As the waves are pretty inconsistent in the Bundaberg area, numerous surf trips have been done to Agnes Waters and the Great Barrier Reef over the years. Andrew was on the lookout for another adrenaline charged sport to fuel the surfing hunger when there was no waves.
This led to "Wardy" getting into kiteboarding back in 2000 and being the first Kiteboarder and Instructor in the Bundaberg, Agnes region. It's funny that as a Surfer he was always travelling for waves away but once kiteboarding came along it was clear that some of the best spots in the world were in our backyard. Elliott heads is a mecca for Kiteboarders and there are many other awesome spots being discovered in the region. Andrew is one of the most experienced Kiteboarding Instructors in Oz and combine that with the awesome location of Elliott Heads makes for a great learning experience.
